Libertar os nossos Pais / Setting our Parents Free

No matter how good or bad our parents were, in other words, irrespective of the way we have come to assimilate what our parents were for us, this does not condition our Grandness - i.e: our Being.
It can enhance it, but never obstruct it. This is an illusion of the small Human Self, which lives conditioned by pain. But pain is nothing but an evolutionary blessing. It is through pain that we come to the moment of recognition of who we truly are.
We can spend our whole lives blaming our parents for our emotional imbalances and results in life… Or, we can discover the treasures that our traumas hold, setting them free from their prisons and receiving their gifts of awareness.
Liberating our parents from the weight of our thoughts, words and actions, is liberating entire generations, past, present and future, from the yoke of suffering.
Having the courage to set free, generally called forgive, is having the courage to grow up, assuming full responsibility for our past, present and future choices, thus finally allowing the gift of Life given to us by our parents to be truly honoured, celebrated, alchemized in each Breath, in graceful acceptance of the Abundance we really are.
Deep Gratitude to my parents for having given me the opportunity to receive this Present: life, in its fullness and purity and as simple as I allow it to be.

Respecting ourselves / Respeitarmo-nos

People who do not respect and care for themselves do not truly respect and care for others.
They may seem to, but ultimately it is always with the ulterior motive of recognition, which in turn somehow fills the void of not being in tune with oneself, at least temporarily.
It also entertains and distracts, filling up the uncomfortable time of being alone.
How can one enjoy one’s own company when one does not enjoy caring for oneself?
Most people haven’t a clue what respecting themselves means, respecting their time - energy,  their space - body…
This is the main reason why the world is perceived as a chaotic mass of suffering.
To invert this, the chaotic pain of absence within needs to be addressed, acknowledged, changed into Presence, as the comfort of care for oneself allows all wounds, physical and emotional, to heal.
Then, the state of the world can be perceived as a whole new reality.

So what is respecting oneself?

A few main ingredients are:
👉Being clear about our boundaries. If we don't express them, we can't expect others to figure them out;
👉Learning how to say NO, being honest with oneself and others; doing things out of the need for recognition always leaves a bitter and empty feeling in our hearts;
👉Respecting what we feel;
👉Allowing ourselves to embrace YES, opening up to receiving;
👉Listening to our body and respecting its limits;
👉Tuning into the rhythms of Nature and respecting that we are an intrinsic part of it as it is of us;
👉Being able to stop;
👉Being able to respect our body's own time and wisdom to heal;
👉Releasing the compulsion of doingness and embracing nothingness;
👉Allowing ourselves to accept our situation each moment, and living by conscious choice;
👉Allowing ourselves to feel vulnerable;
👉Appreciating our own company and honouring it;
👉Taking good care of our body and accepting its appearance fully;
👉Taking good care does not mean forcing ourselves into enslaving workout routines, compulsive diets and other corrective attitudes to "fix what is wrong" with our bodies;
👉Taking the time to relax and enjoy stillness;
👉Releasing the "save the world" agenda;
👉Respecting our time and thus not working just to pay the bills - tuning into what really makes us feel alive and passionate, joyful and fulfilled;
👉Giving Abundance free rein from the inside out;
👉Releasing the illusion of non-deservability;
👉Releasing guilt, shame and bitterness;
👉Releasing grudges;
👉Releasing feeling inappropriate;
👉Releasing anger towards oneself;
👉Releasing the need to entertain the Mind with small-talk, much of which is judgemental;
👉Allowing ourselves to be compassionate with our Humanness;
👉Accepting ourselves and allowing our uniqueness to show itself, embracing and nurturing it;
👉Keeping the coherence between what we think, say and do;
👉Releasing the tendency to procrastinate;

... and so much more could be added.

👉Sermos claros acerca dos nossos limites. Se não os expressamos, não podemos esperar que os outros os adivinhem;
👉Aprender a dizer "NÃO", sendo honestos connosco próprios e com os outros; fazer coisas pela necessidade de reconhecimento deixa-nos sempre um gosto amargo e uma vazio nos nossos corações;
👉Respeitar o que sentimos;
👉Permitirmo-nos abraçar o SIM, abrindo-nos para receber;
👉Ouvirmos o nosso corpo e respeitarmos os seus limites;
👉Afinarmo-nos com os ritmos da Natureza e respeitarmos que somos uma parte intrínseca dela, tal como ela é uma parte intrínseca nossa;
👉Sermos capazes de parar;
👉Sermos capazes de aceitar o ritmo e sabedoria do nosso corpo para se curar;
👉Largarmos a compulsão do "ter que fazer" e abraçarmos o vazio, o nada;
👉Sermos capazes de aceitar a nossa situação a cada momento e vivermos por escolha consciente;
👉Permitirmo-nos ser vulneráveis;
👉Apreciarmos e honrarmos a nossa própria companhia;
👉Tomarmos conta do nosso corpo, aceitando a sua aparência totalmente;
👉Tomarmos conta do nosso corpo não significa forçarmo-nos a treinos escravizadores, dietas compulsivas e outras atitudes corretivas para "consertar o que está" errado com os nossos corpos;
👉Tomarmos tempo para descansar e apreciar a quietude;
👉Largar a "agenda salva-mundo";
👉Respeitarmos o nosso tempo, não trabalhando apenas para pagar as contas - afinando-nos com o que realmente nos faz sentir vivos e apaixonados, felizes e preenchidos;
👉Darmos à Abundância rédea solta de dentro para fora;
👉Largar a ilusão do não-merecimento;
👉Largar a culpa, a vergonha e a amargura;
👉Largar rancores;
👉Largar a ideia de sermos inapropriados;
👉Largarmos a zanga connosco próprios;
👉Largarmos a necessidade de entreter a Mente com conversas de circunstância, muitas das quais são julgadoras;
👉Permitirmo-nos sermos compassivos com a nossa Humanidade;
👉Aceitarmo-nos e permitirmos que o que há de único em nós se mostre, aceitando, abraçando e nutrindo isso;
👉Mantermos a coerência entre o que pensamos, dizemos e fazemos;
👉Largar a tendência para procrastinar;

Allowing Truth / Permitindo a Verdade

Truth only “hurts” the Ego, for it lives in Fear. Truth is Love and Love cannot be understood by the Ego… only allowed.
Whenever a Truth “hurts” you in some way, go deeper, find the part of you that is separate, recognise it, accept it and invite it back Home, beyond the illusion of Fear.
As it integrates into the pool of your Essence, this part of you will alchemise into no-thing-ness, leaving only the Wisdom of all the experiences lived fulfilling its purpose.
This is Unity Consciousness: the Consciousness that you are not Separate from the Whole of Who You Are, which is the Whole of All that Is.
If this Truth relates to what someone has said to you, it is irrelevant whether it is true or not. What is relevant is how it affects you. This is your golden opportunity to release pain and embrace yourself, expanding your awareness of the Love that you Are further and further.

About Allowing the Merlin within to manifest without

Allowing the Merlin within to manifest without is so much fun😁
Here in Portugal there has been a mighty storm these last few days, called Elsa, like the princess in the Frozen movie ❄️ Many floods, broken trees,people being moved out of their houses and so on, which I don't really know of but through a word here and there...
On the very strongest days of this whirlwind of elements, my partner, my son and I were at one of the most iconic hotels in Portugal, dating back to 1926, called Hotel Curia Palace Golf and Spa, enjoying a very peaceful time in our Queen Superior Room and relaxing Spa where there happened to be no one else... As we were looking out of one of the room windows, marvelling at the power of the wind, a tree broke right across the street from where I had my car parked. It was actually in front of a big tree also, which was thrashing and swaying violently with the strong wind. I was being told 'maybe you should move your car to the front of the hotel where there are no trees'. Seemed so foreign to me, this idea that I should be cautious. I smiled, fully sure there was no need to move. My car remained intact.
We were to have dinner with some friends, a lovely family with three radiant children who do not go to school... They were coming to meet us in order to go somewhere for dinner, but because the weather was so stormy outside we really didn't feel like going anywhere so we decided to surprise them by offering them dinner at the Hotel's excellent restaurant. Funnily enough, they sent us a message an hour before the settled time saying they would prefer to stay for dinner in the Hotel and it was on them😂🤣😅so we were all in the mood for gifting each other dinner which in the end we insisted on it being our treat, since we were at 'our' home😁
The day before we had chosen to visit a Majestic forest called Bussaco which was nearby. We went in the morning. It was supposed to have been raining heavily already but it did not rain. In fact, when we got back to the hotel we still went for a walk around the gardens to see the birds and deers. It started raining exactly when we were opening the Hotel's front door👌
Before arriving at Bussaco forest, we stopped at Luso, a small town most renowned for its therapeutic spring waters. Apart from the Thermal Spa where people come from everywhere for all sorts of treatments, there is a permanent spring in the patio outside, where 6 fountains incessantly share cristalline water, the same water that is sold all over the country and one of the best spring waters available. People can come and fill their bottles for free any time to take home and enjoy. As we marvelled at this abundance, filling our own bottles also, savouring the delicious sweetness and appreciating the pure transparence of these waters, I felt this flow from within: my own wellspring of Isness flowing joyfully for the pure bliss of existence itself. It was such a powerful feeling that my heart seemed to be beating from a stereo surround system that made everything so much more pristine. A true High Definition experience 😉 Gratitude. Deep Gratitude <3
The day after the big storm, we went to buy two motorbike helmets at a renowned Portuguese helmet producer and got a 25% discount on the already reduced price. On the way we saw many floods but none that affected our chosen path.
Later on, Pedro, my partner, who hardly ever buys any clothes, decided he definitely needed some new fancy jumpers, shoes and jeans and went into the most expensive shop in the mall we were going to the movies to. He wanted to buy things made in Portugal, once again, to support local commerce and production. The shop, however, was called Mike Davis, which he thought to be an American or English brand. Nevertheless he decided to try some things on. Turns out it is a Portuguese brand and almost everything in the shop was up for a 50% discount. Well, when he was about to pay, having chosen to take all the jumpers he had tried on instead of just one, the lady saw on his ID that it had been his birthday 3 days before and gave him an extra 15% discount👌😂
One of the most amazing things for me in the past year has been being able to go to super crowded places and not feel exhausted or in any way affected by the crowd. It is literally an interdimensional experience, I am there, fully Present, but at the same time I am in my own Peaceful reality, in my own deep Silence.
Now forward.
The day we arrived home, my son wanted to give me a new mouse for my new Mac, so we went to the local store. The one I liked the most, because it was Mac compatible, bluetooth, light and ergonomic, was also out of my son's available € so Pedro said he would offer the rest. When we got to the cashier, the price showing up on the machine was actually 10€ cheaper than was written on the rack so the shop, in fact, offered me a gift also 🥰
After that, we decided to have chips for lunch. We have been playing with reducing plastic waste and it has been so much fun to find new ways of shopping. Anyways, I'll share more about that another time. Instead of buying chips at the Supermarket, we had figured we could get them at a local restaurant that does really tasty homemade ones, taking our own box and cloth bag. The owner, in his usual joyful mood, ended up offering them as a Christmas gift😁
Then today we went down to the land at the end our property to plant some oak seeds and ended up coming back with a basket full of Pecan nuts from the magnificent tree that I most love on this land.
Why am I sharing all of this?
Just to share that abundance is very simply an overflow from within. Once we tap into it, it never ceases manifesting in all possible ways. It's not a question of deservability or even capability. It is just allowing ourselves to receive all that we Are💖... And it is an effortless and graceful flow. It is our Nature🌻
Wishing all the most awesome manifestations of the Abundance you/we truly are. A very blessed Christmas season to All and may we be able to celebrate many Merlin moments together🥂💓

About gifts and hidden agendas /sobre presentes e agendas escondidas

I am at home. A good friend of mine arrives. I have invited her for tea in front of the fireplace. We are happy.

She has a bag in her hand. It has 3 gifts another good friend of ours has sent for me.

I smile, grateful. I look inside. I smile again.

Last time this good friend of ours was in town, she offered me 3 gifts. All in plastic containers. Before I could say anything she said it herself: “I know you avoid buying things in plastic bags but this is what I had so here it is”. I smiled, said thank you and replied: “Thank you for the gifts. This time I will accept and enjoy…” Leaving it unsaid but understood that I did not really appreciate the plastic containers but was very thankful for the purpose behind the gifts, which is, I believe, showing our love for the other.

This time only one of the 3 gifts was in a plastic container and curiously it was the same as one of the three I had received the other time. I smiled… again. Now what to do?

The only thing to do is be honest with myself, and my friend. So I kept the other two gifts and asked my other friend to take the third gift back. I then explained to the friend who had sent the gifts that I was very appreciative of her loving intention and thanked her. I also asked her to please respect my choice of not buying things in plastic containers for me, as I do not either, whenever I can avoid it. The gift, however, remains given… it is the intention behind the physical gift that counts here.

But then again, this lead me to reflect further.

For some reason I still attracted 1/3 of lack of respect for my choice. This means two things to me. Firstly, I need to always express what I have to say without assuming it is understood and secondly, I must keep on showing life I do not consent to be disrespected or to disrespect. It has been such a deeply ingrained human habit for so many eons of time, that it takes its time to wash off and requires us to be extremely coherent…

And it ties into something as simple as the everlasting need for recognition. By affirming my position, risking not being understood, I choose respect over recognition. After all last time I did not say what I had to say and it wasn’t understood anyway so the only alternative is to explain my position clearly, lovingly and thankfully.

But what of my friend’s behaviour? Which is none of my business actually but which I realised as being nothing more, nothing less than: the need for recognition.

Funny thing that we might consider giving someone a gift that we know this person doesn’t particularly appreciate just for the sake of being recognised as a nice person. Who does this serve? The person whom we are offering the gift to or ourselves?

I would definitely say: ourselves. After all, does it not make sense to offer someone a gift we know the other person will really appreciate, respecting his/her choices? All in all, why are we offering a gift in the first place?

All of this to say that most of the time the gift giving protocol that goes on, and especially during this Christmas season when it is traditional to exchange/give presents, only serves one purpose: looking good in the overall picture others have of us and thus feeling good about ourselves because we have been good.

What the heck for?

When we give our best treasures all the time, which we are overflowing with because we nurture them always, we don’t need to serve the agenda of gifting protocol. The most precious jewels we can offer are our Balanced Presence, our Love, our Joy, our Gratitude, our Peace, our Wisdom, our Compassionate Acceptance and even so, never imposing them on anyone who does not want them. These gifts, require us to of course do our part in achieving them for ourselves, because we cannot give what we don’t have. I suppose that’s why it is much easier to go to a shop and buy something already made…

So am I saying I am totally against buying gifts for our friends… family… etc?

Of course not. I am neither for or against. I am just inviting each one of us to have a look at our hidden agenda before buying and offering the gift.

But actually all is well in all of creation and whatever comes our way is part of us too, otherwise it wouldn’t call for our attention. Observing this is also a very fruitful opportunity.

As I feel it, the principle behind making an offering is honouring the other as a sacred vessel of God also. May our gifts (be they material or immaterial) always be filled with this honour and void of hidden agendas.

Estou em casa. Uma boa amiga minha chega. Convidei-a para tomar um chá à lareira. Estamos felizes.

Sorrio, grata.

Ainda assim, isto levou-me a refletir.

Diria, definitivamente, a nós próprios.
