Epiphany

Epiphany

Standing on the edge of nowhere it took him only a split second to decide. Jump. No net. No straps. Nothing. Just him and the void.

It has been known for time immemorial that wings grow to those who dare to leap into the unknown.

The Master on the mountain had told him so. And he not only had believed him, but he knew it was precisely so.

And even if the wings were not to unfold it wouldn’t matter.

As fleeting as this passage through physicality was, so was the illusion of death. In only an instant it would no longer be anything. Transition.

Any transition holds within it the same trepidation. One moment here, the next no longer. Yet, always existing yonder.

The leap had been taken. The plunge had been unexpected.

All along he had known he would be fine. What had surprised him had been the lightness of his wings…

Yes. They did appear. And when he landed in the new somewhere that had before been nowhere, it had been a soft step onto welcoming ground.

His heart was fulfilled. No more need to keep on whispering “Jump. I will hold you.”

It was done. As it had been so many times before and would surely be many times to come.

Each time was entirely the first for the uniqueness of every single metamorphosis.

The beauty now was perhaps even more dazzling because of his decisiveness. No more fidgeting at the edge. No need to. He knew there was nothing else to be done but leap whenever the boundary of change was reached.

My dear friend, whenever epiphany invites you to leap into the crevasse of her unknown depths, may you feel inspired to dive, jump, soar… whatever feeling overcomes you first.

There is nothing to ponder. Nothing to hold onto. Nothing to fear. Your heart never invites you for anything less that glorious freedom. One leap at a time.
