The Scrolls of Ahyeen: Wonder-ful

From the Scrolls of Ahyeen

These writings are not stories to consume. they are moments to inhabit.

They are not lessons either. They pulse as living fields.

Read slowly. Breathe them. Let them move through you.

 Wonder-ful

“Purpose. Purpose. Purpose. Finding my purpose…”

Zahra had been having this thought merry go round in her mind for a while now and it did not leave her alone. But she also knew it was not about the thought itself. It was about something beneath it. Something she had not quite yet been able to put her finger on.

Today she felt like taking a soft walk outside. Maybe the cool breeze would help her get clear. Or maybe not. But she went anyway.

Where she lived there was this majestic mountain right across the ocean, and though the weather which bathed it changed constantly and the clouds were forever shape shifting around its summit, it remained steady. Strong. Nothing bothered its majesty.

This had been like so for many centuries and would surely remain so for many more, but somehow today it spoke differently to her.

There was a sense of satisfaction that the mountain emanated, which reminded her of being Present. Just Present.

And suddenly it clicked. It was like the mechanism of a church clock falling into place to chant the hour of mass. A glorious call to go deeper within herself.

She had to stop. To stand straight, facing the mountain, and let it sink in.

Suddenly she was realising the simplicity of it all! There was no purpose other than to live fulfilled and whatever brought joy, wonder, gratitude, the love of life into her heart, was the purpose in that moment. It could change. It was not a constant task or something that needs to be achieved through what she thought to be service.

She had believed she had to provide something useful to society, to the world, in order to fulfil a greater purpose. To have a relevant job or develop something meaningful that could positively contribute to the whole of humanity’s liberation from suffering.

What she had not realised was that this only required her to liberate herself from the experience of suffering by loving all of her parts back into wholeness, one by one and all at once… So that her heart could have space for joyful contentment, for humble acknowledgement of her own unique value in the matrix of the Earth experience. And then she could celebrate whatever made her heart overflow with wonder.

All she needed was to remain Present. Consciously aware of her thoughts and their nature. Capable of choosing love instead of fear. Mindful of the words that came out of her mouth and the way they were expressed. To realise that actions move energy and carry meaning. They are a purpose in themselves. Electing kindness towards herself and therefore towards others, as her guiding principle. Being able to establish clear boundaries that did not foster patterns of victimhood. To honour everyone on their journey of life and to remain compassionate. To trust her inner wisdom and be lead by it in all situations. To keep perspective of this reality as an experience and herself as the experiencer, yet knowing her eternity to be intrinsic and inseparable of who she truly is. To tread gently and respectfully on this planet, aware that it too was her. To see the brilliance in each element of nature, in the people, in the situations and to be able to find the silver lining in all moments. To know deeply and fully that when in conflict, the most important step to take was always to step back into coherence with her breath and then discern what to believe, what to do, where to go, how to be in life.

The purpose was not one mission. One task. One accomplishment. One activity. One direction.

It was any and all of that which enhances, enlightens, enlivens and nourishes. All of that which is wholesome, fulfilling, overflowing with joy, peace, grace, love, inspiration, respect… templeness in each breath.

This would provide the synchronicities themselves, which brought about the richest outcomes for all involved. And what was fulfilling now need not be held onto forever. It could and would change, which meant that letting go was also an essential part of the equation.

The mountain, right there in front of her, was effortlessly showing her so much without even moving. Wow! It could be that simple.

Simple but sometimes incredibly challenging. To stay connected. To not forget. To discern the truth beyond the many illusions of duality. To be firm in her willingness to surrender to All that Is, with no attachment to the enticing seduction of keeping personality traits fixed as self-defining principles. All of this in itself was purposeful.

Zahra smiled to herself. She had known all of this for a long time. But the mountain had connected the dots for her. A steady pillar between Heaven and Earth.

She felt so much love for this mountain right now. Such overwhelming gratitude, that together with the smile came sparkling tears.

What a relief it was to not have to have a plan of how to achieve purpose!

One breath at a time. In wonder. Now Zahra knew what the word “wonderful” really meant!
