Amazing Gifts

By now you are probably getting used to my blog posts sharing amazing weekend experiences. Well this last one was nothing short of fabulously magical!

In Portugal the weather has been quite unstable. It was a bright clear Spring for a few days and then this last week it started raining and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees centigrate. On Friday it was cold, windy, stormy even, raining, raining, raining! There was actually a full blown hail storm, which I was fortunate enough (of course ;) drama is not my choice ) not to pass through on my way to the North of Portugal where I had a book presentation. The forecast for the weekend was more rain, cold, wind… bad weather. So, though I was going to stay at a friend of mine’s near the beach, I “knew” I would not be able to enjoy the beach as I usually do, therefore I didn’t take my bikini…

When we woke up on Saturday we had the most pleasant surprise! It was sunny! The sky was clear blue! It was slightly windy and the temperature was mild! Wow! We smiled! We were so thankful and we felt ever so blessed!

I was supposed to have work on Saturday afternoon, but I didn’t. Instead I was offered the most placid day, enjoying an alchemical twist in the weather, in excellent company! We went for a loooong walk along the beach. The sea was a bit rough and absolutely stunning. We walked and walked and walked and never tired. We had intended to make lunch at home… but upon arriving at a seafront row of restaurants with the most inviting tables oustide, in the warm sun, with a breathtaking view of the sea smashing against the bay, we accepted the day’s invitation to stay immersed in its sunshine. As we treated ourselves to a delicious seafood meal, the weather got warmer and warmer… the wind got weaker and weaker and the sea got calmer and calmer. Needless to say that I had asked my friend to lend me a bikini of hers just in case…

Needless to say also, that I couldn’t resist the passionate urge to plunge into the sea, so at sundown there I was, enjoying my love affair with the ocean! And the water was soft, unusually warm for that area and I was overwhelmed with intense JOY and FREEDOM!

We still had time to breathe and integrate a few of my friend’s worries and to wrap the whole day up I was taken out to dinner as well and had a delightfully relaxing evening.

All unexpected from beginning to end ;)

Today we woke up to a cold, rainy day. We smiled though. We smiled for the magic gift that had been given to us with so much love directly from the heart of the Universe. And today I shared yet one more of my InPassion events with a group of beautiful people, who offered us lunch with absolute loving care, all of a sudden, all unexpected.

I came back home with a bag full of new clothes, earrings, necklaces, a pair of walking shoes (which I had not taken and was offered out of the blue! So Saturday those were the ones I wore all day J )… and a heart full of grateful grace. All was offered to me, none bought.

I haven’t mentioned the amount of creative potentials which were created during the weekend, expanding InPassion further and further on its journey of Inspiring Passion everywhere! Amazing, simply amazing. I’ll let you know about our new creations very very soon.

Well my dears, that’s all for now. And it is so much… so much more than I ever thought possible before… so much more than I had dreamed of… so much more. Thank you.

Ah, just a last word to add that the whole weekend was lived moment to moment, to such an extent that no plans were possible to keep. No plans at all. Everything changed moment to moment, bringing me always more than my initial intention… just because I allowed life to flow through me of its own accord, with no need to control any of it. Ahhhhhhh Freedom, the blessed Freedom of Isness!

Texto escrito em 2009 e publicado na revista Zen Energy em 2010... Hoje dei com esta Doce Fragrância da Compaixão e sorri. Sorri porque as palavras que escoam do Fluxo da Essência são sempre actuais, sempre simples, sempre sábias. Partilho este doce abraço contigo.

A Doce Fragrância da Compaixão

É certo e sabido que todos nós, enquanto seres humanos, temos pensado, dito e feito coisas de que não nos orgulhamos. Também assim é em relação ao que têm feito os outros para connosco.

Desde que nascemos, e ainda até como pequenos bebés, começamos a receber estímulos de toda a espécie, alguns mais e outros menos aprazíveis. Falando dos menos aprazíveis, os sentimentos de falta de afecto, abandono, solidão, inadequação, falta de auto-estima, e um pouco mais tarde mas ainda na tenra infância a raiva, a revolta, o ciúme, a inveja…enfim, o vasto caleidoscópio de mágoas guardadas fica cristalizado em pequenos “nódulos” de energia distorcida, presa e congelada no tempo. São como fósseis inertes. Estes fósseis criam capas à sua volta, para ficarem bem armazenados e manterem a sua forma original, protegendo-nos dos seus efeitos. E eis que nós desenvolvemos padrões de pensamento e comportamento completamente acondicionados dentro destas bolsas protectoras, gerando respostas fixas para estímulos diversos que passamos a classificar por categorias, todas elas de teor defensivo ou ofensivo. É como se vivêssemos dentro de milhares de camisas de forças, cada uma fabricada ao jeito de cada condicionamento. E neste marasmo de barreiras internas a nossa energia não consegue fluir livremente e encontrar novas formas de ver, sentir, perceber e viver. Cada vez que se move encontra uma parede e anda assim de parede em parede a deambular cá dentro, sem ar para respirar, sem luz para ver, sem espaço para expandir, sem tempo para desfrutar. Parece-lhe familiar?

Fruto de todas estas barreiras, e como a matéria tem tendência a recriar padrões iguais a si mesma, geramos ainda um tremendo acervo de auto-punições, críticas e culpas, vergonhas e restrições, na vã tentativa de impedir novas investidas do mesmo tipo de pensamentos ou comportamentos que consideramos inadequados para com os outros, pois que os considerámos anteriormente inadequados dos outros para connosco. Não há-de o corpo andar dilacerado entre dores e doenças mil, espelhando todas estas dinâmicas que ainda assim são tão fugidias para a nossa compreensão?!

Mas, felizmente é possível diluir essas bolsas protectoras, desfazer essas capas, desenterrar esses fósseis e reconhecer os seus tesouros – qualquer fóssil é um achado que encerra em si jóias de sabedoria e nos impele mais além na cadeia evolutiva. Porque haveria de ser diferente com os fósseis internos?

 Paremos um pouco para observar o entusiasmo dos arqueólogos. Estes compensam o trabalho árduo de escavar sob a insensível surdina de climas agrestes – faça sol ou chuva e sempre com determinação inabalável e destemor louvável - com os preciosos achados de tempos idos, que revelam segredos ímpares, trazendo para a claridade o que residia esquecido no escuro. Ah e que Alegria essas “descobertas” proporcionam. Pois é. Como o próprio nome indica, “des-cobrir” é nada mais que remover a coberta e ver o que estava escondido. O medo desvanece-se totalmente e o que se mostra é bem mais belo do que imaginávamos possível, pois que o essencial de seja o que for não está distorcido, apenas contém o âmago de qualquer experiência, o doce néctar que nos impele mais além.

Quando decidimos empenhar-nos na demanda da “des-coberta” de quem realmente somos, tornamo-nos arqueólogos de nós próprios, escavando com fervor inabalável, mantendo a vontade firme mesmo quando o “tempo” à nossa volta é agreste, tendo a ousadia de remover as capas do medo e ver mesmo o que elas escondiam, e cada vez que conseguimos ganhamos novo fôlego – forças renovadas para seguir crescendo e vendo mais além.

É aqui que entra em acção a Compaixão. Ela traz-nos o suco da aceitação, para podermos beber cada sabor redescoberto com o mesmo entusiasmo – sem pôr de parte os sabores amargos, apenas sentindo cada um por si, cada um único.

A Compaixão – corolário do tão aclamado Amor Incondicional – empresta-nos os seus olhos quando assim o pedimos e através desses olhos podemos ver um mundo realmente muito diferente. O mundo visto desde os olhos da Compaixão não é dual, é Uno e como tal todas as coisas simplesmente são – nem boas nem más, nem tortas nem direitas, nem vis ou santificadas…tudo é o que é, sem grau de julgamento. São esses olhos que nos permitem observar sem dramas e ver que tudo, absolutamente tudo tem um propósito. São esses olhos que nos permitem ver que ninguém é dono da Verdade de ninguém, por isso nem eu nem tu podemos dizer a nenhum outro que está certo ou errado na sua conduta, que é melhor ou pior que eu ou tu. Podemos, isso sim, se essa conduta estiver ligada a nós, discernir se queremos envolver-nos nela e escolher se ela nos serve ou não, sem condenação. Aliás, a fronteira entre julgamento e discernimento é bem ténue, mas se pedires à Compaixão que te empreste os seus olhos para poderes discernir em vez de julgar perceberás claramente a diferença.

Mais além, a Compaixão ajuda-nos a sentir uma profunda gratidão por todas as experiências vividas, não importa o grau com que as classificamos. Aliás, são as que classificamos com maior grau de dor, sofrimento ou mágoa que em última instância nos levaram a descobrir a Compaixão, a senti-la e a saboreá-la. Foi precisamente o facto de termos percebido que não era possível perdoar o passado sem largar o julgamento que fazíamos dele (de nós e dos outros) que nos levou a poder perceber que a Compaixão é o caminho para a Liberdade…Benditas experiências!!!

E assim é que podemos enfim olhar com o maior Respeito, Gratidão e Tolerância todos os que nos rodeiam também.

 A Compaixão não é uma meta mas sim um caminho. E este caminho és tu que escolhes se o queres trilhar ou não, tal como todos os outros caminhos.

O caminho da Compaixão é muito doce e delicado, totalmente transparente e não contempla fugas ou subterfúgios pois em última instância a Liberdade – que nós enquanto humanos nem podemos sequer conceber na sua total amplitude – a Liberdade é a pura clareza de Tudo o Que É.

A Respiração Consciente é uma ferramenta maravilhosa de prática de Compaixão que nos leva pela mão, ajudando-nos a largar o passado, a assumirmos quem realmente somos e a vermos mais além do que os olhos limitados do Pequeno Eu Humano nos deixavam ver. Ao permitirmo-nos unir o nosso Eu Divino em harmonia com o nosso Eu Humano, podemos descobrir que não somos realmente as nossas histórias, nem os nossos dramas, não somos limitados, nem incapazes e não somos incompletos. A integração de tudo o que é nosso é a verdadeira Compaixão, condição essencial para recriarmos uma nova realidade, querendo.

Cada humano que assume a sua Mestria, emanando Compaixão por si e por tudo o que é, deixa uma pegada indelével que cria uma trilha nova, abrindo as portas para quem queira encontrar também esse rico tesouro.

Respiração e Compaixão…Libertação – e eis que a Vida floresce.

Distractions

Distractions

On the path of expanded awareness there are, indeed, many distractions. A few of the most enticing ones are precisely those that keep us “beating around the bush” instead of addressing our issues straightforwardly. It’s no wonder this happens, we have milleniae of practice running around in never ending circles of the same.

Many times I hear people giving excuses for not moving beyond their precious known personality traits such as: “it’s not my time” or “I’m not ready”, “I have a lot of time”, “I don’t want to rush my process”… and then the bastion of all these: “this is a never ending process, we will always have issues to resolve, so there’s no point trying to resolve it all at once”.

Yes. There is purpose in these affirmations, and yes, sometimes one is not ready to move forth, and yes there is no rush, after all, it is not a competition! On the other hand, if an issue is right under one’s nose, and one can see it clearly, then it is THE TIME for change. Otherwise it wouldn’t be evident and the way to integrate and resolve it wouldn’t be visible and available. That’s all there is to it. And pleeeeease, throw out the daft concept that you will always have issues to resolve, obstacles to overcome, problems to deal with. Nooooooo! What is your choice????? Living on Earth will always have its challenges, there will always be events that challenge your regular way of resolving them and there will always be people who defy your ability for compassion. Then again, none of this needs to be a problem, an issue, an obstacle. It all depends on how you, the Master Creator of your reality, choose to deal with life. It is the eye of the beholder that defines and determines one’s world. No question about it, this is a 100% foolproof affirmation. Put it to the test.

Now some clarification. No, I didn’t wake up one morning and snap my fingers and choose to live a magical life and it all happened instantly. It could have been almost so actually, if I had known back then, when I decided to change, to move forth, to expand, to BE, if I had known it didn’t need to be hard, if I had accepted to be simple, if I had been ready to throw everything I was carrying inside and no longer needed into my Universal recycling bin at once. But I couldn’t have. My body wasn’t ready for such an instant change. My mind wasn’t capable of such a radical transformation. And my Essence was absolutely compassionate and completely patient with my stubbornness. If this change had happened at the snap of my fingers I would have disintegrated! My body wouldn’t have been able to sustain the intensity of this new vibration, and my DNA needed time to readjust and I needed time to accept, to release, to BEcome who I really AM, gradually. So, it does take time. And each one has their own time. The question is: to what extent do we TRUST we can BE fully and totally who we really ARE, to what extent are we willing to surrender to our Essence’s guidance (some call it GOD, I prefer to call it Essence simply because it is a weightless word), to what extent are we capable of accepting ourselves entirely, to what extent are we capable of receiving all that we ARE right Here and right Now, to what extent are we capable of acknowledging that it is possible, feasible and simple?

When the answer is right there before your very eyes, right there under your nose, you can still choose not to accept it and turn your back, going on yet another merry go round ride or… grasp the chance, fill your lungs with precious air, open your heart and leap into the unknown that you ARE and has always been there. It’s been just there, right there, nowhere else, just there – HERE.

The other day a friend was saying maybe he needed to go back “home” for a while, for a breather, to then come back again to Earth and continue. I challenged him by saying that home is right here. Not necessarily on Earth, actually none of us are from Earth or anywhere else. We are from where our ISNESS IS! That is home. There is nowhere else to go back to, but there is HERE to land fully into.

We are expert foolers, and the ones we fool the most are ourselves ;)

Now that I am living exactly the life I have chosen I can say that ultimately it is simple to live it. It is the simplest thing to do actually. It is effortless surrender to endless possibilities of manifestation where all that seemed hard to get is actually easy to BE.

In endless love I embrace you and me in the vastness that we ARE.

O murmúrio do MAR

O murmúrio do MAR

Já te tenho falado muitas vezes da minha empolgante história de amor com o mar. E vai de vento em popa J A minha vida sensual tem sido muito ativamente preenchida com esta dança entre nós, o mar e eu… já para não dizer a restante Natureza que, exuberante, me abraça.

Hoje pela manhã, ia eu serena e plena, conduzindo de regresso a casa, após um fim de semana (mais um fim de semana) completamente maravilhoso, absorvendo com o olhar os extensos prados, o sol suave, o céu amplo, a estrada calma, quando olho para a minha direita e vejo o azul profundo, um azul turquesa com nuances mais e menos intensas… o azul intenso do mar. Murmurava o seu doce embalo e eu não parava de olhar, de absorver aquele azul intenso a perder de vista. Houve um recanto que me chamou e chamou com tanto afinco que tive que encostar o carro e parar. Tive que sair. Uahhhhh! Que lindo recanto! Rochas pintadas de musgo verde, o azul profundo do mar, a areia dourada de sol suave, pedrinhas imersas num lago transparente, água a gotejar pela encosta abaixo e a escoar a sua canção para as ondas meigas que afagavam a praia.

Desci as escadas e corri para a beira mar, absorvendo tudo aquilo com cada lufada de ar. Todo o meu corpo se preencheu com aquela magnitude ímpar e fiquei ali parada, apenas apreciando, encantada, grata. As lágrimas inundaram-me os olhos e sorri. Fiquei ali. Sorrindo, chorando, grata por tal bênção logo no início do meu dia.

Simples, o murmúrio do mar. Graciosidade pura. 

Aromas

Coloco os pés na soleira da porta para contemplar o sol há pouco nascido. Sou abraçada por uma intensa sinfonia de aromas que me preenche por completo. Os meus poros respiram eucalipto, pinho, flor de jasmim, estevas, acácias e um sem fim de perfumes que me confundem os sentidos… erva orvalhada, terra húmida, madeira cortada, rio, mar… aromas enleados num bouquet de mistos tons… ahhhh sublime abundância. O leve doirado do sol espreita por entre os odores requintados deste lugar e eis que me perco entre o ver, o sentir, o cheirar, o ouvir, o saborear, o toque deste imenso amanhecer.

Paradise

The winding blue river stetches its wings through rolling smooth hills of lush green. Not a breeze stirs its surfasse, just the murmuro f the current calmly flowing towards the open sea.

A white bird dives once, twice, thrice, fishing an early dinner under the delicate rays of fading sunlight.

The songs of Nature embrace my senses and nothing seems misplaced in this sacred haven of Paradise.

Enjoy, dear one, enjoy the blessings we share together, just because… just because it IS.

I know. Lately I can only find space to share beauty, joy, serenity, fulfilment, bliss… I have nothing else to share. I have stripped myself bare of everything else. I have stripped myself bare of everything that was not a direct reflexion of my pure Passion for Life. That was my firm, constant choice for a long long time. And it manifested in hiccups at first… Seldom. Then, gradually less and less rarely, as I threw down structures and reformulated beliefs about what can and can’t be done, about abundance and possibles and impossibles, about me, about others, about the World, about the Universe, about everything.

Progress seemed slow. Now, as I look back, it wasn’t so slow. It seemed hard. Hard to be simple. Such a contrasense. Now it’s hard to be anything but simple! And it’s happening before my very eyes. It’s happening constantly, permanently and that’s why I believe it’s true and it’s possible and there’s no way to explain it, really. The only way is to live it, to be it, to dive into it so completely that nothing else remains but the bliss that ONE IS.

Trust. Trust is the secret which is not secret. 100% trust and that’s all.

É por isso que algo tão abundante tem não um mas dois dias de aniversário! Happy Birthday InPassion! Today and tomorrow the InPassion Project completes 3 years of existence, inspiring passion, spreading Joy, sharing Love, breathing Serenity, promoting Balance, proposing Harmony, living Fulfilment and Gratitude. This is why something so abundant has not one but two birthdays! It’s just because its creation occurred during a placid weekend of March, when its creator decided once and for all to follow the voice of her Essence and to accept the inner invitation to materialize her absolute passion, not knowing how to do it, just trusting in total surrender that her inner Wisdom would show her moment to moment, one breath at a time, the hows, the wheres and the whats!

It has been na indescribable journey. All the words I might try to join in order to transmit what InPassion has brought to me cannot illustrate the ampleness of what I am privileged to receive, to give to share, to BE with all of you who have shown up on my path.

Sentada à beira rio.

As folhas tocam o vento.

As flores das acácias resplandecem banhadas pelo sol. Beijam-se. As flores e o sol. Parecem varinhas de condão executando passes de magia… semeando o chão de pó doirado que as fadas e duendes usam para esverdear o musgo macio.

Erva viva baloiça neste jardim de encanto e o rio rola sobre a margem, massajando a areia em ondas de permanente satisfação. Brilhos de prata espraiados sobre a superfície do lago que canta.

Uma borboleta pousa ao meu lado, aconchegada pelo abrigo das folhas caídas.

O céu cobre as copas das árvores.

Nada a mais, nada a menos, neste lugar plácido.

Um pássaro conversa com o meu silêncio e ao longe o zumbido de algum inseto voador plana sobre este idílico contentamento.

Olha para baixo. Mesmo à minha frente bate um coração. De pedra, é certo, mas bate vivo sob o calor que me envolve. Pego nele. Aprecio a sua textura. A sua perfeição.

Florzinhas douradas caem sobre a minha cabeça, numa chuva de suavidade.

Uma ilha de verde e amarelo brota da água a alguns escassos metro daqui. O rio flutua à sua volta, como um vestido ligeiro que com o vento balança.

Grata porque estou aqui. Grata porque posso. Grata porque me permito. Grata SOU.

Grandness is not something smallness needs to prove in order to protect itself from its own relfexion, it is the glow of the Essence that does not need to try anything whatsoever.

Grandness resides in the simple transparence beyond all identities. It is, therefore, nothing it is thought to be.

Gratitude embraces me as each breath sways gently into every corner of my reality.

I adore observing the curving traces of each human’s fundamentally different observation of the world. It fascinates me. The way so many worlds form within the seemingly same square metres of space.

Take these last five days, for instance. I have been supposedly on a “working” trip to London with 13 other people… English students… and a friend who joined us.

Since it is “work”, all of my expenses have been taken care of. All the travel arrangements for the group as well. What remains for me to do is share my love and joy as well as a balanced sense of responsibility, paired with certainly well deserved freedom for all.

These kids are aged 15 to 18 and I can’t even begin to say how thankful I am that they had such a desire to travel to London. If they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have had the privilege of their company, let alone the blissful pleasure of visiting this lovely city for the 7th time… yet as if it were the very first ever!

That’s the thing. When we seek new perspectives, each experience is filled with enchanting discoveries, first times and never dones before.

And so it is that, as usual, London has managed to fill my heart with beautiful memories, sweetly kept in the warm whispers of my heartbeat.

Since I have clearly made the choices for ease and simplicity in my life, as well as total absence of drama, this trip could be nothing less than magical, as each day invariably is for me, here or anywhere.

There was no rush. There were no misunderstandings. There were no endless queues or people getting lost. There were no issues of disrespect either way. There were no dramas whatsoever. All there was, was permanent well being, an everlasting sense of bliss and, of course, the utmost fulfilling presence of Gratitude, which simply suffuses everything with Love… and there were hearts everywhere!!! In all colours and sizes. Literally everywhere!!!

The lush green gardens with endless leafless trees, offering their branches in praise to the sky. Even the sun dared to shine every morning! And the rain only played with us for a few fleeting moments here and there, just to welcome us to this lovely country where it usually abounds J The temperatures were strangely warmer than in Portugal and it sure felt good to walk around, free from the jittering chill that usually scours London’t streets.

The buildings, the people, the river, the monuments, the cars, buses, taxis and bikes, the foods and tasty teas, the breathtaking musicals, the shops, markets and street performers, the pubs, bars, cafés, restaurants, underground stations, the lights and the streets, and so on and so on and so on…

Abundance in all forms, in a colourful display of metropolitan diversity. For all I am speechlessly grateful.

I could recount special episodes and experiences that repeatedly filled me with glee, as I choose to look at the world from the innocent perspective of an untainted child, but I suppose I’ll just finish off for now and breathe the silente ease of Being free to BE… anywhere J
