The Blessed Choice of Love

You know that state when you feel Blessed, overwhelmed with Gratitude, Joyful, overflowing with a powerful symphony of Life force cascading all over you, your skin tingling with the intensity of it all, your Heart so big it all but bursts from your chest, laughter bubbling from your pores mingled with tears of fulfilment?

This is how I feel very often and this is how I felt last Saturday when I decided to get in my car late in the afternoon to celebrate love with the wonderful and very special man I playfully, but truthfully, call my Sweet Prince. What happened on the way was nothing short of a reunion of Heaven and Earth performing the most sensual dance of Light and Dark. A Gift so abundant I cannot even begin to describe how overtaken by bliss I was. It truly felt like the sky was cheering all the way and I could not stop myself from trying to capture it all on the minute screen of my mobile... so small to capture such grandness.

The images I saved are in no way half as glamorous as the spectacle I was offered for an hour, while merrily driving down an almost empty road to pure and simple love. They do not show the intricate depth of the hues colouring the sky or the changing landscapes riveted by the golden pink clouds. Anyhow I cannot but share the vague image of why I felt swept off my feet and embraced in this all encompassing ode to the Abundance of Life.

Thank you is all I have left to say <3

The tools, the purpose... and the final result / As ferramentas, o propósito... e o resultado final

All tools serve a purpose. Be it in whichever context. And once the tool has served its purpose it becomes unnecessary. It is a means to an end, not the end in itself.

This is pretty straightforward in most contexts. When it comes to our Spiritual Path, however, it is not always quite so clear.

Spiritual tools are Spiritual tools. They all serve a purpose. Nevertheless, confusion is common when it comes to discerning the difference between the tool, the purpose and the result. In fact, in this context, there are no static results or deadlines to achieve them. This makes it  easy to confuse the tool with its purpose, to become attached to the tool and to lose sight of the ongoing result, thus assuming that without the tool we are helpless. It is an enticing rut to get stuck in, with the added "bonus" of us mostly choosing a myriad of tools instead of focusing on just a few and using then consistently.

In such a quagmire of dependence on tools, how is one to ever Trust, really fully Trust and listen to one's own Divine Essence - the very same Essence that enlightens all that Is?

Tools are a fabulous, magic gift to all of us, helping us open up to our Divine Wisdom. They are not our Divine Wisdom itself and they are certainly not a perenial requirement.

Though hard to break for the comfort they bring, why not gradually let go of the habit of using Spiritual tools as a rule and rather make them the exception?

Breaking habits, any and all habits, always opens space for new perspectives and can be as simple as changing part of a practice without eliminating it completely. It can be as simple as taking a deep, conscious, sweet breath :)

***
